Prof. Edu J. Piano will take a leave of absence as professorial lecturer at the University of the Philippines' Film Institute starting this October 2009. He will leave for Maryland, USA on October 3 for a month's training in Baltimore in preparation for a new job in Subic Bay Freeport. In his absence as a UP teacher, Prof. Ed will concentrate as Head of the Russian Task Force (formed by Mayor Bong Gordon of Olongapo in anticipation of the influx of Russians investors in Olongapo and Subic) and as consultant for the city's arts and culture council.

Sa ngayon ay pinaghahadaan ang malakihang demand ng bansang Australia na makapag-hire ng welders mula Olongapo. JOB MATCHING. katulong ang PESO sa paghahanap ng trabaho ng mga taga-Olongapo at gumagabay sa jobseekers upang masiguro na kwalipikado sila sa kanilang ina-apply-an. KARAPATAN NG MGA MANGGAGAWA. Sa kabila po nito, kailangan pa rin ang lalong pagpapaigting sa programang CR3 (compose, reduce, re-use, recycle) ng pamahalaang lungsod, lalung-lalo na sa mga barangay at eskuwelahan. TREE PLANTING. Gagawing regular at madalas ang tree planting program sa lungsod upang makatulong sa taon-taong problema natin sa baha at landslide. No to coal plant! No to mining! No to dumping of toxic wastes in Olongapo and Subic Bay! Ban use of plastics! Deputize Boy & Girl Scouts in keeping Olongapo clean and green. PLATAPORMA SA SINING AT KULTURA. Palakasin pa ang kultura, sining, at kaalamang-kasaysayan ng lungsod. Panatilihin at paigtingin ang kultura ng katutubo kasabay ng pag-aaral sa kulturang popular.
